Men Experienced with Abuse Workshop

This workshop is comprised of three five-week sessions. In the first groups of sessions we will explore the factors that contribute to our confusion about the role of men in our present society; internal and external factors. We will share the impact these factors have had on us. We will then identify skills that we want to learn that will help us to live effectively in our families and communities.

The second group of sessions will provide opportunity to learn the skills that were identified in the first sessions. The content will depend on the types of learning requested.

The final group of sessions will assist the participants to apply their new skills in an appropriate environment. That may be in a mixed gender group or another group setting that will provide the opportunity to practice the skills that have been learned.

Grief - Work Workshop

The loss of a loved one impacts persons more significantly than perhaps any other loss. Death in a family changes the family structure, changes the family's experience of community, and has a significant impact on how the survivor finds meaning in life after the family member is gone. Being in a community may provide meaningful support to grieving persons.

Grief support groups may also play a significant role in helping grieving persons understand their own grieving process and also help them through a re-orientation process in a supportive environment.

This eight-week grief-work workshop will take the group through the different stages of reorientation. If you or your organization is interested in this workshop, give Ed a call at (403) 244-3115. The workshop can be tailored to meet your needs in terms of length and content.
